My social interaction to the American culture is field hockey. I play for Iup Field Hockey’s team. This is part of the American culture because I am part of a team. I have to interact every day, using my social skills and cooperation skills. I am able to work with others learning new plays it takes dedication and love for the sport, and being up at 5:30 in the morning and on the field but 6:00. It isn’t easy especially when you have class for the rest of the day, and your body is physically exhausted. Even though field hockey isn’t the most popular sport here in American, and it is mainly played in Europe. It still shows that I am part of a team and that’s what I feel is very important for our society today. Coming together as a team and doing something we love. Field hockey is unique to me because we all come from different places, and in the end we come together for the love of the sport. No matter how different we all are what we like or dislike; but in the end we all have one thing in common we want to win and succeed. We come to realization that sometimes its going to be hard and were going to need to train for long hours in the middle of the day, but when we come away with a win it makes everything worth it. For individuality I work on certain things I need to fix for myself like my skills that’s make me a better player. No matter what I do I work on my angles this allows to me be ready for any shot that is coming at me. I am a goalie and I mainly work on all individual skills. That way I can have my skills down and this allows me more time to work with my team, so that we can each take all our own individual skills and put them together to make a team.

1.Americans watch what they say so that they don’t seem rude. Many Americans don’t ask each other personal questions, they stick to the basic few how are you? How’s your day? Ect. Americans today are considered rude if we ask about there personal life. Why they got divorced, the amount of income they make, or reaching across the dinner table to get food. When we ask personal questions its considered being nosey. People don’t like to share their personal life. The amount of money me make it personal. Either we show it off with either the cars we drive or homes we live in. Or we keep it with in our families.  Getting divorced is something that families go through, and it’s not our jobs to know what happened, but just be there for that person we care about. When we have meals, we sit down and get the amount of food we want. In other cultures the food goes in the center and everyone takes food from it while there still eating.

2. In America it’s all about being independent. Your parents hope that they raise you the best as they can when you’re a child. So when you do turn 18 your ready for the real world.  In Thailand family comes first no matter what, being independent isn’t what they considered life, living with your family until you are a lot older isn’t considered weak and not going any where in life. In American being 30 and living at come isn’t considered being strong and going anywhere.

3. I grew up in a home where working wasn’t there main thing for me. If I played sports and kept up my grades, I basically got what I needed and wanted. But then came high school and I didn’t want to rely on my parents like that. So I got two jobs I grew up I decided that I could play sports get good grades and work. So that’s what I did I needed to be independent and earn my own money so as I get older I know what it is like to manage money and deal with problems on my own.

1.Everyday is a struggle for girls no matter how skinny they are to how high up in numbers there pants go. See every girl wants to change something about themself and each day can be a different battle. I am athlete I come from thicker thighs and not a size zero waist. Having the perfect ideal body is something I even struggle with, but that doesn’t mean its wrong. It just means we have to find ways to go about finding what we love about ourselves rather than what we have to change. Yes most girls want to be skinny and have the flattest abs and skinny legs. But when it comes to show the chance of being built like that is slim to none. We all have different genes and parents; in the end we have to be happy for our health and well being rather than always worrying about what we look like. Sports and eat healthy is something in my eyes that always help “my look”. I love going for long runs and playing field hockey for hours, but when I come home at night and I have had a long day, I want a bowl of ice cream and I don’t want to feel guilty for eating it. When I am “that” girl that orders salads when I go out to dinner its not because I want to not eat calories, its simply because I know its healthy and it taste amazing. My parents have influenced me a lot about body image and being healthy. My friends are all athletes, they look a lot like me, it helps me a lot knowing we are not all the ideal perfect body. But that’s what makes it okay in my mind and helps me get through.

2.Not only do I think woman have higher expectations to have the perfect body, but in our minds it’s what makes us beautiful. The first sentence of the paragraph is “the young girl stands in front of the mirror”. This is the first thing most girls and woman do all the time. We are so worried and self-conscious. The society puts the tiny sizes on top, all the manikins are size zero and Victoria Secret Models are the ideal body for girls growing up today. It’s not right the amount of pressure girls go through to deal with there weight. If a girl has curves and a little extra cushion, she’s not fat and not pretty. No that’s not the way it’s supposed to be. Men should see what’s on the inside, and I feel like they forget that.  Magazines all over show skinny woman and how they feel great. Men worry doesn’t get me wrong, but I believe it is a different type of discomfort. I feel that girls don’t feel like they will be liked or accepts until they are the perfect body, they have much more pressure coming from all different angles.

3. Strong, muscles, my type of man, men are seen to be the strong tough ones. They can’t be upset or have bad days and want to cry.

4. Competition and physical appearance. I believe that they can both be harmful and helpful. Giving men a little incentive to work out and care about this physical appearance is a good thing. But when it gets to competitive and men start taking steroids to help their body, that’s when I think they are over during it. I feel like men always want to be the best and wont admit it but it bothers them when some one is bigger and better looking. They’re a threat and the only way to make themselves feel better is by getting back and looking better.

1. No matter who we are or where we come from money some how will always play some type of role in our lives. Whether it is we need more money or we have so much money we don’t know what to do with it. Our generation is so focused on how to “fit in” nothing else really seems to matter to them, to the point of being millions of dollar in debt. I think in some way we will always still connect because every one wants to know what’s best and the only way to do this is by socializing and going out and shopping. Yes we can look online but people still need to go out and show off there trendy clothes, cars, and jewelry. It becomes alienation when we stop communicating and when robots are doing work when humans should be.

2. I believe that getting a higher income with not help the economy today, if anything makes it worse. People will feel they need to continue to spend a certain quota of money to maintain there looks and everything else they feel is important rather then on the things in life that actually helps us become stronger and healthier human beings.

3. Anything that Apple makes such as the I phone, the I pad, mac computers and tvs are considered to be competitive consumption, we don’t realize how dependent we get on things such as the I phone, we were constantly on them texting, face book, twitter, were going to eventually stop using our socializing skills, and just continue to bury our faces into any electronic we can get out hands on.

4. I personally struggle with computers, I never know how to fix things or make viruses stop. I relay on my family and friends to help me. Sometimes I can’t keep up with the newest technology and ideas. I have an I phone and it is still taking me 6 months later trying to understand everything it is capable of. I feel completive consumptions plays a minor role in my life, I don’t need it to feel like I fit in. But if my phone plan is up I don’t mind getting a nice phone.

  1. I believe the catastrophic incident won’t happen for a long time for it to be effective and not have any fallbacks. I think the public will have mixed emotions some would be happy that their men and woman wouldn’t have to do such a dangerous job. But on the flip side many Americans would be jobless. I think this will cause a lot of controversy.
  2. I think that it is very likely for the Artificial Intelligence to be created. But I think it will take a lot of time and mess up for people to get it a 100% correct. I think this has its downs because we could be risking a lot of money and time on some thing that we could be spending our money on something more efficiently. This will affect humans because we will be unsure of what is to come. Fighting over religious background is something we do with out this Artificial Intelligence and I am not sure if this will truly help our society in the long run.
  3. Some positives are it will be safer for many American’s, there will be an increase in production, it could help with many dangerous jobs not only war but police officers and fire fighters. Some negatives are computers are so unpredictable they go break down at any time and if were relaying on them this could really effect us. Another fallback is many American would lose jobs over this already now happening in our economy and it isn’t truing out very well for many Americans.
  4. I have lost my entire power point presentation when my computer decided to crash. It was a brand new computer that was only a few weeks old, but something wasn’t right when it was manufactured. I lost everything and not only did I not have my presentation but now we didn’t have a computer. This made it very challenging and I feel if we relied on computers in the long run it could be very dangerous.

  1. My first reaction to the article was Mother Teresa is hands down the most admirable person. But then I realized that people like Bill Gates and Norman Borlaug have done a lot more then we give them credit for.  I found it very interesting learning more about these people two of them that I knew and one that I didn’t. But Norman still played a very strong role in our society. They have all brought different attributes to our lives today, Mother Teresa being the saint that she, Bill gates was smart computer tech. that really had a strong impact on our society today, and Norman still continues to be dedicated to his work.  I still believe that Mother Teresa is the most admirable person but I can definitely see how the others had such a great impact.
  2. My dad is the most admirable person to me he has truly changed my life. Not only is he my father but my best friend. My dad taught me how everything in life is earned not given, and what you out into something is what you get out. My dad works three jobs and has two kids and a wife makes time for all of us. He dedicates every second of his day to taking the extra step. Not only has he taught me that we get what we deserve, but always do the right thing. Through out life we all face many obstacles, and it’s the little that’s makes a difference. He has taught me to never give up and I appreciate everything he has done for my family and I. Another person I admire is my grandfather, he grew up from up a rough childhood and everything he has today he earned on his own. Nothing was ever given to him, he is a hairdresser, he can do hair better than anyone I know. I know he might get judged for what he does but that’s what makes him stronger. He doesn’t care what other thinks. He will put every he has to make you hair perfect, and this is what he does for his family and friends. No matter what it is he is always supportive. He knows we all have bad days, but know how to make everything better even when you think it couldn’t get much worse. I love my dad and grandfather very much they truly know how to make an impact on my life today.
  3. I do not believe that mortality is the universe. I believe we all look at life differently. We come from different back rounds and have different beliefs on life. People that do really bad crimes and don’t respect others compared to men and woman in the military that put their life on the line every day. I believe in mortality but I believe it is different for everyone and universal is broad.
  4. The five varieties of moral experience are harm, fairness, community, authority, and purity. I think the one that Americans tend to rank first would be fairness. We allow everyone to make choices on their own, and even if they do make the wrong one we give second chances. I believe that is life, we live and we learn. As an American that is what we do. We go to work we raise families. We are allowed to excel in whatever we can achieve. And I believe as a Country that makes us different, woman can have jobs that are “only for me” and blacks and race isn’t a problem. If you want it go for. Fairness is something that America bring to the table for all Americans.
